We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that He is the only God and Creator of the universe. We believe that He created humanity as the crown of His creation, and made us in His own image, meaning that human beings were made to be triune beings of body, mind, and spirit.
We believe in the Fall of humanity which means that as fallen beings we are in need of redemption and salvation, through the forgiveness of sins made possible by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ upon the cross. We believe that this salvation cannot be earned but is given freely to all who are willing to believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, receive His offer of salvation by exercising faith through prayer, and being “born again” by the regenerating power of God’s Holy Spirit. We believe that every person ever born must decide whether or not to receive Jesus Christ as God’s only provision for salvation, in which they enter into eternal life in heaven as God’s reward for their faith. We also believe that all persons who complete their life on earth, having never received the forgiveness of their sins, must spend eternity in a place called “hell” which was created for the devil and his followers, any all who have chosen to reject Christ and His atonement.
We believe in the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, Word of God revealed to fallen humanity. We agree with the Baptist Faith and Message as it was presented in the 2000 Southern Baptist Convention, which was a revision of the 1962 Baptist Faith and Message. In all matters of faith and practice, we rely upon the authority of the Scriptures as God’s absolute truth. Yet, the Bible must be rightly divided and interpreted in order for its light of truth to be revealed.
We believe that the church consists of all believers who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, regardless of creed or distinction, and that local bodies of believers constitute local churches which enable like-minded believers to work diligently to preserve the “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” We align ourselves with the Southern Baptist Convention as the denomination which best reflects our own beliefs in Christ and His Great Commission to the church.
We believe that Christ commanded all believers to be baptized as the outward symbol of the inward work of salvation which God alone accomplishes when we have exercised faith to receive His Son, Jesus Christ through prayer. We practice baptism by immersion for all who have received Christ by faith, as our understanding of the Bible’s instructions for this ordinance.
We believe in the practice of the Lord’s Supper as the other ordinance of the church, offered to all who profess to be baptized believers of Jesus Christ, and practice this ordinance whenever we deem it proper for our church.
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to the earth according to promise of the Scriptures and the providence of God.
Finally, we believe that God saves sinners because of His great love, but that He also calls upon those He saves to participate with the church in carrying out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Thus, we work together to spread the message of salvation through Jesus Christ alone to our surrounding community and throughout our world.
